Bill Quay Community Farm is a treasured green space on the edge of Gateshead.
It was opened in 1986 as partnership between the Bill Quay Community Farm Association and Gateshead Council. Together, our farm team has transformed this 25-acre site from dereliction into a thriving community leisure project. Much of the work to restore the natural heritage to one of the greenest banks on Tyneside, has been achieved by volunteers.
Farming for fun, learning, food and wellbeing, there is always something going on at the farm.
We have award winning Tamworth pigs and Jacob Sheep.
There are rare Bagot goats. Our beautiful Longhorn cattle are a firm favourite, and many more animals besides.
If you are lucky, you can pick up some fresh farm eggs or some Bill Quay Bangers.
Entry is free.
There
